Join us on Nov. 15 to hear from Troy McWhinney, who co-founded McWHINNEY, a fully integrated real estate development, investment and management company, with his brother in 1991. Today the company manages a diverse portfolio of real estate valued over $2 billion, which includes multi-family, hospitality, office, industrial, retail, land, water and mineral rights. As co-founder and chief investment officer, Troy leads the development, strategy and implementation plans for McWhinney. In addition, he is responsible for developing new capital opportunities and managing all new and existing investor relations.

Troy began his business career at age 13 by selling strawberries, along with his brother, Chad, at roadside stands in southern California. While in high school, the two grew the strawberry business to more than 30 locations. During that process, they met many property owners and real estate developers, and realized at a young age that owning high quality, cash-flowing real estate in growing markets is an excellent way to produce long-term equity.

Troy McWhinney has been named NAIOP Developer/Owner of the Year by the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties – Colorado Chapter, Bravo! Entrepreneur of the Year by the Northern Colorado Business Report, and Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year by the Everitt Real Estate Center at Colorado State University’s College of Business. He has previously served as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County and the chairman for the City of Loveland’s Construction Advisory Board.
