Commencement

Official regalia is required of all graduates to participate in the College of Business (COB) Commencement Ceremony.  Students will order their regalia which is a purchase to be kept by graduate (cap, gown, and tassel for Undergraduates as well as hood for Graduate Students) in advance, online, at: https://alumni.colostate.edu/grad-packs/. 

Online ordering for Fall 2024 commencement ceremonies will open September 3, 2024. The deadline to order will be October 30, 2024.

Regalia will be picked up at the Smith Alumni Center (in Canvas Stadium) on the following days. Photo ID required for pick up. 

• Thursday, Dec. 12 between 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. MT
• Friday, Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. MT

Students who anticipate graduating with undergraduate academic distinction (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude) and/or from the University Honors Program should place a regalia order as instructed above. Once the academic distinction and/or Honors distinction is confirmed by the Registrar’s Office, students will receive an email to present to the vendor when they pick up their regalia. The vendor will then provide the appropriate color of gown.

Representatives from CB Grad Announcements (announcements) and Josten’s (class rings) will be on campus for Grad Fairs to take advanced, customized, orders in the Lory Student Center Flea Market (outside the University Bookstore). The Alumni Association Mobile App lists specific Grad Fair dates. Generic announcements (non-personalized announcements) may be purchased at the University Bookstore any time. Students creating their own invitations who want to include information on their degree, should follow these guidelines:

Undergraduate Students
The degree awarded is: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in ________________.

Graduate Students
Degrees awarded are the: Master of Business Administration; Master of Accountancy; Master of Computer Information Systems; or Master of Finance.

Students needing wheelchair seating should contact Shannon Egan at (708) 267-3848 for more information. Wheelchair pads are available at the west end of Moby Arena for guests. Guests with limited mobility should sit in the first two rows of the concourse level. The University cannot provide wheelchairs.

Check-in is located in the Moby Complex Intramural Gym. The student entrance is located on the southeast corner of the Moby complex – this is the only entrance graduates will be allowed to use. Students should arrive no later than 12:00 pm. Once inside the Intramural Gym, students will pick up their name card and line up with their fellow graduates by concentration/graduate program (signs are posted). All graduates will be individually recognized as they cross the stage using their name card received at check-in.

This is a public event which reflects upon students as individuals, their friends and family, and upon Colorado State University. Alcoholic beverages and inappropriate substances or objects are not allowed in Moby Arena. This ceremony is the capstone of the academic experience for graduates, family, and friends. Recognition of the rights of others to enjoy the ceremony free from disruptive or otherwise inappropriate behavior is expected and appreciated.

Professional photos will be taken of each graduate with their diploma cover. Grad Trak will email photo proofs following the ceremony. Grad Trak can be reached at (800) 628-4509. Guests are not allowed on the floor of Moby Arena during or after the ceremony.

Graduates receive a diploma cover at commencement. Official diplomas will be mailed to the permanent address on file (in Ramweb) approximately eight weeks after commencement. For those unable to attend the ceremony, diploma covers will be available in 110 Rockwell Hall West or by calling (970) 491-4650.

As a new graduate, you have the opportunity to join the CSU Alumni Association at a reduced rate. Membership in the Alumni Association is not required to rent the cap and gown.

A reminder email with the career survey link will be sent to all graduating undergraduate and graduate students anticipating graduation. All graduating students are required to complete the career survey. Completing the survey prior to the day of commencement saves time.

Moby Arena is on the northwest side of main campus. The Moby parking lot, off Shields and Plum Street, is open for students and guests. Parking is enforced in all other lots and parking is not allowed in specific permit spaces in front of the “Fum” McGraw Building, nor in loading zones. Additional information regarding parking can be obtained from CSU Parking Services at: parking.colostate.edu or by calling (970) 491-7041.
