Bio

After nearly 30 years of domestic and international Human Resources experience, Julie Weber now serves as an Executive Advisor at Southwest Airlines supporting the CEO and EVP of People and Communications.  Current areas of focus are executive compensation, employee relations, employment law, organizational effectiveness, and overall human resource practice transformation.

Most recently, Julie served as Vice President and Chief People Officer for Southwest Airlines where she led all aspects of Human Resources.  Her broad responsibilities included hiring the right People at the right time with the right attitude, providing Employees with equal opportunity for learning and personal growth, providing competitive and attractive benefits packages, and assuring quality and depth of Leadership throughout the Company.  

Since joining Southwest Airlines in 2006, Julie has served in various leadership roles including Director of Employment, Senior Director of People, and Vice President of People. Prior to joining Southwest Airlines, Julie worked at MetaSolv Software (now an Oracle Company) as a Recruiter in 1996, and served as Vice President of Human Resources from 2000-2006. 

Julie currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Dallas and is a member of the Colorado State University College of Business Global Leadership Council and the University of Texas at Dallas Human Resources Management Program Advisory Board.  Previously Julie has served on the Advisory Boards for Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County and Community Credit Union.

Julie earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Dallas, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. 

Julie is married to John, and they have two dogs named Routt and Cam. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, and just being outdoors.
