Seth J. Kinnett, Ph.D., is Clinical Professor of Computer Information Systems in the College of Business at Colorado State University. Professor Kinnett received his Ph.D. in Computer & Information Sciences from the Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media at DePaul University in Chicago and holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology and DePauw University.
Professor Kinnett's research seeks to address a variety of questions surrounding customer relationship management (CRM) systems, optimal skills and competencies of Information Technology professionals, and the impact of the fourth industrial revolution on the future of work and evolution of higher education. His recent publications explore manifestations of classic software metrics in computer programming course assignments, propose a novel measurement scale for the collaborative dimension of CRM systems, and evaluate the landscape of Blockchain-based loyalty programs.
Prior to earning his Ph.D., Professor Kinnett accrued 15 years of industry experience, holding a variety of IT and IT-adjacent roles spanning the areas of business analysis, systems administration, sales management, and consulting. He maintains two Salesforce certifications and is the author of the professional handbook: How to Win at CRM: Strategy, Implementation, Management, which was published in 2017 by CRC Press.
