About

Troy V. Mumford received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University. 

Troy enjoys doing research that explores leadership at different organizational levels (e.g., supervisory, managerial, and executive), in teams, and in shaping organizational culture.  In addition, he investigates the types and determinants of leadership team roles as well as the connection between leadership actions and systems in driving organizational quality culture.  He has published his research in such outlets as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Business Venturing and Leadership Quarterly. 

Troy also serves on the editorial board for the Academy of Management Review and reviews articles for Harvard Business School Publishing, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. 

Troy is also passionate about teaching, and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Compensation and Benefits, and Management, receiving and being nominated for several teaching awards. 

Troy has also been involved in variety of independent consulting and applied research projects for organizations in the biomedical, manufacturing, financial, legal, and airline industries as well as the United States Government.
