It's never too early to start thinking about business. These programs are designed for young entrepreneurs
The College of Business and the Institute for Entrepreneurship believe that business can create a better world. As part of that mission, we teach students of all ages about how they can make a difference in their communities and leave a positive impact on the world. These programs were developed specifically for high school students, and teach core business concepts, connect students with local and global thought leaders and offer them the chance to get hands-on experience in the field of business.
Venture Rams High
The Rams Venture High Support Program uses a multi-disciplinary approach to encourage 7th-12th grade students and teachers to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset. This support program connects students and teachers with lessons in design thinking, business model development and innovation while helping them engage with the local business community and solve real-world problems.
The program also offers Venture Rams High student mentors, free professional development opportunities for teachers, professional mentors to help with class projects and invitations to future Institute for Entrepreneurship events.
The Venture Validator is a free, two-week program designed for entrepreneurs ranging from high school students, to CSU students, to community members. These entrepreneurs meet as a collaborative group twice over every other week to test out their new business concepts. With the support of seasoned mentors and coaches, students conduct customer discovery and market research, create a business model, analyze their competitive landscape, protype products and ultimately pitch their ideas with the goal of launching successful ventures.
This intensive process is a necessary step in the entrepreneurship experience and ultimately sets businesses up for success, providing the knowledge needed to grow a venture while avoid common pitfalls and frustrations.
This program is for those that have gone through the Venture Validator. The Venture Jumpstart is a six-week workshop series where entrepreneurs come together twice per week from across CSU and the broader community to learn about – and take – the concrete steps needed to begin their business operations.
The workshops are focused on providing the tools entrepreneurs need to succeed, whether that’s pre-built financial templates, industry connections, or an encouraging community here to help you navigate the complexities of launching a new business.
