Gary graduated from CSU in 1979 with a BS in Business, with a concentration in Finance. He has owned several licenses in Southwest Texas with Val-Pak Direct Marketing. He also founded and operated a direct mail marketing and print brokerage company called Ad Motions Direct Marketing that specialized in list maintenance, brokerage, catalog / brochure development and mail fulfillment.
In 1985, Gary co-founded FASTSIGNS International, Inc. with Robert Schanbaum. Today FASTSIGNS International has more than 750 locations in 9 countries around the world. Gary was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in 1994 for the Southwest by Ernst & Young for his co-founding and development of FASTSIGNS. He’s also served on several Boards including, FASTSIGNS International, Batteries Plus, Decibullz, LLC and Forum Analytics.
Gary retired in July, 2009 after having sold the company to a private equity group a few years prior. He now resides in Fort Collins. Gary currently donates his time to the Colorado State University Business School - Management Division with their Entrepreneurship Department, serving on the Decibullz, LLC Board and consulting with businesses that are having difficulty managing growth.
