University of Denver

The CSU Everitt Real Estate Center has partnered with the University of Colorado-Boulder and the University of Denver for more than a decade to co-host the annual Sherman Miller Case Competition. This competition focuses on a real-world Colorado retail commercial development site, giving students hands-on experience in analyzing and presenting a comprehensive case study.

 

Who Should Apply

Finance and real estate majors, real estate minors, and construction management students are strongly encouraged to participate.

 

CSU Team Selection

  • Team: 4-6 undergraduate students will be selected to represent CSU.
  • Preparation: Team will meet throughout the spring semester with an assigned industry advisor.
  • Deadline to Apply: January 23, 2026.

 

What to Expect

  • Teams receive the case approximately one week before the event
  • Deliverables include:
    • Excel financial workbooks
    • An executive summary
    • A PowerPoint presentation
  • Final presentations will be delivered in person at the University of Denver to a panel of four judges.
