What is Venture Validator?
CSU business students talk through their startup ideas with industry experts during an Institute for Entrepreneurship business pitch competition in Fort Collins.
Venture Validator is a series of four free sessions that provide early-stage startup assistance and mentorship to CSU students. It is hosted by CSU’s College of Business Institute for Entrepreneurship and designed for entrepreneurial students across academic disciplines who want to put their startup ideas to the test.
Through the program, students will learn how to conduct market research and design product prototypes. Support will be provided by experienced business leaders as students build their pitching skills and further develop their ability to create and assess new business ventures.

Venture Validator is part of the Institute for Entrepreneurship’s Venture Development Platform, which brings together extracurricular programs, academic coursework, and funding opportunities to support CSU students in their efforts to build impactful startups. Venture Validator is followed by additional programming where students can further advance their business ideas.
When does it take place?
Venture Validator takes place every Tuesday for four weeks from 5-7 p.m., beginning on February 5 and ending on March 5.
Sessions will include:
- Strategies for developing a successful business model
- How to validate market opportunities and business ideas
- Prototyping, intellectual property and creating a minimum viable product
- Building an effective pitch deck
- Mentoring from industry experts
What's required to attend?
Venture Validator students must complete a Venture Invent session or have already put significant time into developing a business idea.
