What is Venture Invent?

This hackathon is hosted in partnership with the CSU Energy Institute and the Nancy Richardson Design Center.

Join fellow CSU students for a free, hands-on experience as the College of Business Institute for Entrepreneurship hosts the Venture Invent: Clean Tech & Energy in partnership with the Nancy Richardson Design Center and The Energy Institute. This event shares what it takes to bring a startup idea from brainstorm to launch in just 24 hours.

The Venture Invent: Clean Tech & Energy is designed for students from any discipline across CSU who dream of launching startups and want to learn how to make a creative idea a business reality.

Students will also join a network of passionate entrepreneurs and connect with leaders in the local clean technology business community.

It all starts with your big idea!

Venture Invent is the first step in the Institute for Entrepreneurship’s Venture Development Platform, which brings together our network of entrepreneurs, extracurricular programs, academics, and funding opportunities to support CSU students in their efforts to build viable startups.

Completing Venture Invent qualifies you to participate in Venture Validator – a series of four weekly sessions that starts on September 18 – where students take their new business ideas and put them to the test, refining concepts and preparing for launch with the help of seasoned mentors.

When does it take place?

Venture Invent takes place over two days, starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1 and wrapping up at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. Visit the registration page for more details.

On the second day of the program, student teams will gain valuable experience pitching their venture ideas to an expert panel of judges.
