Bill MacGowan is a retired Human Resources Executive who spent over 40 years in corporate HR work in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics, high technology and mining industries. He also served on the Corporate Boards of Director for two high technology companies, was a National Trustee for the American Foundation for the Blind and received the 2007 Diversity Best Practices Legacy Award for lifetime achievements on behalf of women, minorities and people of color in the workplace. 

Mr. MacGowan served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources from 2010 to 2020 for Newmont Mining, the world's largest gold mining company with a large global asset base and 35,000 employees.  In this role he directed a global HR staff in 5 continents, and managed labor relations for unionized locations in Peru, Suriname Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Ghana, Canada and the United States.  Prior to joining Newmont, Mr. MacGowan served in the Silicon Valley as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, People and Places, for Sun Microsystems, where he oversaw a staff of 750 and an annual operating budget of $600 million. In addition, Mr. MacGowan was responsible for Sun’s $1.2 billion real estate portfolio, encompassing five campuses and 12.5 million square feet.  He previously worked in corporate HR roles for Northrop Grumman, Allergan, Nichols Institute and Quest Diagnostics.  Mr. MacGowan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Claremont McKenna College. He retired in 2020 and resides in Boulder Colorado.
