The Everitt Real Estate Center’s Entrepreneurship Award

The Everitt Real Estate Center’s Entrepreneurship Award was established in 2007 to recognize and honor individuals who have been innovative, creative, and have displayed forward-thinking in their industry. The Entrepreneurship Award winners have impacted the real estate industry as a result of their resourcefulness, collaboration, and imagination. Their actions are inspiring, and they serve as exceptional role models for CSU Students.

2024 Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year

Josh Guernsey has shaped Northern Colorado’s real estate landscape through his entrepreneurial vision and dedication to community growth. A Fort Collins native, he co-founded Waypoint Real Estate, a full-service commercial brokerage, property management, and investment firm. Recognizing the need for strategic investment in local businesses, he also co-founded Vuelo Investments, helping foster economic growth with a people-first approach.

Over the years, Josh has played a key role in revitalizing spaces across the region, including The Exchange, Harmony Commons, the historic Museum of Art Building, and the William S. Hill Building. His ability to blend historic preservation with modern development has contributed to the vibrancy of Fort Collins.

Beyond real estate, Josh has made a lasting impact at Colorado State University, where his leadership on the Everitt Real Estate Center Advisory Board has helped shape the future of real estate education. He is a well-known mentor to students, and his company, Waypoint Real Estate, has become a sought-after place to launch a career after graduation. His dedication to fostering the next generation of real estate professionals reflects his commitment to both industry and community.

The Everitt Real Estate Center Hall of Fame was established in 2003 to recognize and honor leaders whose life-long contributions shaped the real estate industry. The Hall of Fame award winners have a proven record of improving their community through their business leadership. They have had a significant impact on their field and serve as exceptional role models for CSU Students.

Dr. Eric Holsapple has left an indelible mark on the real estate industry through his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to education. As a co-founder of Loveland Commercial, he played a pivotal role in shaping Northern Colorado’s real estate landscape, developing projects that have driven economic growth and community development.

Beyond his success as a developer and entrepreneur, Dr. Holsapple has profoundly influenced Colorado State University and the Everitt Real Estate Center. As a former faculty member and Executive Director of EREC, he mentored countless students, bridging the gap between academia and industry. His generosity led to the establishment of the Loveland Commercial Endowed Chair in Real Estate, providing scholarships that continue to open doors for aspiring real estate professionals.

His impact extends beyond business and education—Dr. Holsapple is a Wall Street Journal bestselling author, a champion of mindfulness in leadership, and an advocate for aligning professional success with personal fulfillment. His dedication to CSU, real estate, and personal growth has made him a role model for students and professionals alike, leaving a legacy that will inspire future generations.
