Develop real experience. Deliver real impact.

Solve Real Business Problems through Applied Projects

Class projects can get you interviews, but real project experience gives you the stories that stand out.

The Center for Digital Insights brings students who want to make a tangible difference together with companies that have real AI and analytics needs. As part of Colorado State’s College of Business, we pursue Business For a Better World by using data for good, connecting purpose-driven students with opportunities to explore real business data and develop actionable insights to drive growth in the Triple Bottom Line.

AI and Data Analytics Project Opportunities

CDI leadership meets with prospective industry partners to select and organize project opportunities on an ongoing basis. Projects typically last two semesters, though timelines can vary, and can involve work like:

  • Complex business data analysis
  • Analytics sprints
  • Concept testing
  • Prototyping
  • AI projects

What does a project with CDI involve?

Our AI and data analytics projects are built into courses offered by the Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS). You’ll typically begin working on projects with a team within your class, applying class theory to the real-world needs of the project. Most projects will involve a second semester of independent study work with your project team.

The final deliverable for the project is a presentation to the business you’ve helped. Your team will discuss the results of your work, findings and recommendations, and share any digital artifacts (prototypes, proofs of concept, etc.) for the company to implement.
