Phil McKinney is president and CEO of CableLabs, the nonprofit research and development and innovation lab. An author, speaker and innovation guru, McKinney shares his rule-breaking approach to innovation and creativity in his book, Beyond the Obvious. He was recognized for his industry contributions by Fast Company, BusinessWeek, MSNBC, and other media outlets. McKinney held leadership positions in major companies, including serving as CTO for Hewlett-Packard. At HP, he created the Innovation Program Office, which identified, incubated and launched adjacent and fundamentally new technologies, products and services that became the growth engines for HP. His Killer Innovations podcast became a nationally syndicated talk radio show in 2016.
