Yolanda Sarason is an associate professor of entrepreneurship and strategic management at the College of Business. Her research area focuses on social and sustainable entrepreneurship and the development of theoretical perspectives in entrepreneurship and strategic management. Her current research stream involves investigating the consequences of the sale of social mission driven companies to multinational corporations. This research is a collaborative effort with her colleagues at CSU. Sarason’s research has appeared in The Journal of Business Venturing, The Journal of High Technology Management, The Case Research Journal, and the International Handbook of Women and Small Business Entrepreneurship.

Professor Sarason teaches in the entrepreneurship program and has taught the graduate and undergraduate strategic management capstone courses. Teaching experiences also include the MBA program in Quito, Ecuador. Professional service has involved redeveloping the undergraduate entrepreneurship certificate at CSU. Additionally, she has served on the Faculty Advisory Board for the Center for Entrepreneurship. Professor Sarason has been an active member the President’s Commission on the Status of Women as well as a board member of the Small Business Development Center. Prior to her academic career, she worked in a number of start-up ventures as well as a family-owned business. Along the path her extended family, including her almost grown children, has been a constant source of help and support.
