Bio

Chris Schmidt is the managing partner for the Denver Deloitte office. As managing partner, Schmidt is responsible for driving client and business growth, facilitating cross-functional teaming, and further enhancing strategic positioning in the Denver market. Over his 20-year career with Deloitte, he has seen the Colorado practice grow from 200 professionals to more than 1,400 across four offices in Colorado.

A growth-oriented partner, Schmidt most recently served as the global lead consulting partner for a global oil and gas supermajor for six years. He has held various roles of increasing responsibility within the consulting function, Oracle practice, and leading account teams. Schmidt has extensive experience across a variety of industries and sectors, having served clients such as Chevron, Molson Coors, Ball Corporation, Gateway Computers, Coca-Cola, Murphy Oil, Land O’Lakes, and Tetra Technologies.

Prior to joining Deloitte he worked as the accounting manager for Colorado Housing and Finance Authority with broad responsibilities for financial and management reporting, close and consolidation, transaction processing, and core accounting systems.

Schmidt is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and an MBA from the University of Colorado. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, and he is a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).

Schmidt and his wife, Cathy (CSU ’91), have two children, Caitlyn and Connor. Schmidt enjoys fishing, skiing, and is a longtime Broncos fan.
