David Chow is executive director with Affinity Capital Inc. and Firmus Capital Inc., both based in Shanghai. Affinity and Firmus operate as small investment funds in the space of creative and design, healthcare, and alternative energy opportunities. The privately-held funds are particularly interested in guiding and driving value-added triangular platform build¬ing between western technology, strategic initiatives and alignment, and teaming with Chinese operators in local markets.
Chow continues to serve as an advisor to Chairman/CEO of Newegg Inc., a Los Angeles-based No. 2 pure play e-commerce company in North America following his departure from Tekhill Holding Ltd. as its Managing Director, founded by the same per¬son. Chow is on the board of direc¬tors of a number of private and public companies. In the past 25 years, Chow has held various executive positions with illycaffe, General Mills, Pillsbury, Haagen-Dazs, Nabisco, several Johnson & Johnson compa¬nies in the China region, Speakman & Price CPAs, and Motorola in the U.S. Chow is a frequent forum and seminar speaker in China. He has taught classes at Central University of Finance and Economics and Tsinghua University, both in Beijing, among other engagements. He has been an advisor to Chinese agencies and businesses.
Chow is active in charity work. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University and has received other executive education in the U.S. He is a U.S.-certified CPA. He and his wife, Susan, have two grown sons, Michael and Jason, and have lived in China since 1992.
