Bio

John Weber is the President & CEO of Long Range Systems, LLC in Richardson, Texas. Weber joined Long Range Systems in 2013 as CTO and assumed CEO responsibilities in 2015. In his time as CEO, Weber has led the transition of the company to one that delivers next-generation indoor positioning services to complement it’s historical success as a provider of on-site communications products. Long Range Systems now delivers products and services to over 50 countries across the globe.

Weber earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in strategic management from Colorado State University and began his career with EDS (now HP) as a systems engineer in the telecommunications industry.

In 1995, Weber joined MetaSolv Software, at the time small startup that focused on back-office operational software for the telecommunications industry. Weber played key leadership roles in engineering and professional services for MetaSolv as it grew to a multinational company, opened multiple offices, and completed several acquisitions as it culminated in an IPO and an eventual sale to Oracle. After MetaSolv, Weber joined another startup, Calpont Corporation, and led the engineering team in the delivery of a highly scalable, big data analytics platform. Upon completion of the product, he assumed responsibility for all marketing and sales efforts at Calpont and spoke at many industry symposiums on enterprise-scale big data management.

Weber’s career and experience spans varied roles in executive management, multiple technology sectors, start-up management, business financing, as well as software and hardware engineering.

Weber and his wife, Julie, reside in Southlake, Texas and Fort Collins, Colorado with their dogs CAM and Routt. They both are active with several initiatives with their alma maters and support multiple dog rescue organizations. Weber enjoys fly fishing, travel, and camping.
