Mandy Sharpe joined the Colorado State University faculty in May 2018 after leaving public accounting to pursue her interest in teaching. She teaches a few undergraduate accounting courses depending on the needs each semester such as Introduction to Taxation, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I, and Spreadsheet Applications in Accounting.
She is a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and holds her Bachelor’s in Business - Accounting from CSU!!! Prior to starting her academic career, she gained over fifteen years of experience working in local and regional public accounting firms, most recently as a tax partner. She focused on tax planning and compliance for small business owners and enjoyed providing mentorship and training for the accounting staff.
In addition, Mandy taught an income tax course at Front Range Community College for three years before coming to CSU. Through successful partnership with Tax Help Colorado and The Piton Foundation she supervised and assisted students as they provided free income tax preparation to members of our community, putting their knowledge right into practice.
She is thrilled to be back home at her alma mater as teaching is by far the best, most fulfilling job she's ever had. In addition to teaching, she enjoys meeting new people, traveling, exploring, and camping with her family, friends, and dogs. She's also a hockey fan, writes poetry, and loves seeing live music!
