Mandy Sharpe joined the Colorado State University faculty in May 2018 and teaches a few undergraduate accounting and tax courses depending on the needs each semester. She has taught Fundamentals of Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and teaches the introductory undergraduate tax course each summer. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and holds her Bachelor’s in Business - Accounting from CSU.
Mandy taught an income tax course at Front Range Community College for three years before coming to CSU. She also oversaw their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance "VITA" program. Through successful partnership with Tax Help Colorado and The Piton Foundation she supervised and assisted students as they provided free income tax preparation to members of our community, putting their knowledge right into practice.
Prior to starting her academic career, she gained over fifteen years of experience working in local and regional public accounting firms, most recently as a tax partner. She focused on tax planning and compliance for small business owners and enjoyed providing mentorship and training for the accounting staff.
She is so thankful to be back at CSU as teaching is by far the best, most fulfilling job she's ever had. In addition to teaching, she enjoys her family, dogs, travelling, camping, poetry, and live music!
