Mandy Sharpe joined the Colorado State University faculty in 2018 leaving her career in public accounting to pursue her passion for teaching.
She is a licensed CPA in the state of Colorado and holds her Bachelor’s in Business - Accounting from CSU. Mandy is thrilled to be back home at her alma mater as teaching is by far the best, most fulfilling job she's ever had.
Prior to starting her academic career, she gained over 15 years of experience working in local and regional public accounting firms, most recently as a tax partner. She focused on tax planning and compliance for small business owners and particularly enjoyed providing mentorship and training for the accounting staff.
As the faculty in charge of the VITA tax clinic program at CSU, she is excited to again supervise and assist students as they provide free income tax preparation to members of our community, putting their knowledge from class right into practice. In addition to running the free tax clinic, she teaches a variety of undergraduate accounting courses such as introduction to taxation, introduction to financial accounting, fundamentals of accounting, accounting information systems, and spreadsheet applications in accounting.
In her free time, she enjoys meeting and connecting with new people, traveling the world, and camping with her family, friends, and dog. She's also a hockey fan, writes poetry, enjoys reading, dancing, and live music!
