Liz Cowle joined CSU in 2021 after completing her doctoral degree at the University of Arkansas. Liz earned her Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Master’s degree in Accounting from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Prior to entering academia, Liz worked as an auditor for Deloitte where she primarily served on the audit team of a Fortune 500 energy and utilities company.

Liz teaches managerial accounting and accounting analytics. Liz has been recognized with the Most Impactful Macc Professor of the Year award and the CSU College of Business Emerging Scholar Award. Her research focuses primarily on auditing and includes research on auditor reputation, financial reporting quality, and audit market structure. Liz has personally presented her research at numerous international and regional conferences around the world. Her research has been covered by several national news outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Thomson Reuters, Accounting Today, and others. In addition, Liz's research has been published in The Accounting Review and Accounting Horizons.
