Gideon studies competitive strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability.  His research appears in top-tier journals such as Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, and Academy of Management Perspectives.

Gideon is an Associate Editor with the Academy of Management Prerspectives and an editorial board member with several journals—Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.  Gideon also brings enterprise-building and fund-raising capabilities:  He founded and funded the Sustainability, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Conference — a unifying event that is supported by several universities and the Kauffman Foundation.  In addition, Gideon founded the Front Range Management Research Seminar, which is a one-day, high-octane research event, often held in Colorado. Gideon is an expert in business-model innovation and has consulted large enterprises such as Deutsche Telekom, Bosch Siemens, ChoicePoint, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Worldspan, as well as private and family firms, startups, and non-profit organizations (Altarum Institute).  Gideon earned the prestigious Best Teacher Award in 2010; he teaches the Capstone Strategy classes at CSU, and has taught in diverse institutions and contexts (in the US and abroad). He lives in Boulder, CO with his wife, Veronique, and two boys, Oz and Eytan.
