Matt Baucum is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at Colorado State University. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. His research focuses on the use of machine learning. sequential optimization, and econometrics to improve healthcare operations and decision-making, with applications in chronic care and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. His research has been published in Management Science, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems, and the INFORMS Journal on Data Science. He is a member of the Journal of Operations Management editorial board and the INFORMS M&SOM Society. His teaching interests include data visualization, database management, and time series analysis. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Baucum worked in market research at Honda Research & Development and in user experience research at AT&T.
