Dr. Ella Sheinfeld is an HR/OB Postdoctoral Fellow at the College of Business at Colorado State University. Her research examines the dynamics of social networks, employee motivation, and workplace relationships, with a particular focus on how people maintain or change their social preferences in the face of a change in their social environment or social embeddedness in organizational settings and how these changes affect their work outcomes and well-being. Her most recent work provides new insights into how job mobility acts as a network shock, influencing the long-term survival, maintenance, and value of professional ties.
Her research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Geriatric Oncology and Supportive Care in Cancer, and is under review at the Journal of Applied Psychology. Dr. Sheinfeld’s work has also been recognized through multiple fellowships and awards, including the Dean’s Dissertation Fellowship at Rutgers University and the prestigious Fox International Fellowship at Yale University.
An engaging teacher and collaborator, Dr. Sheinfeld brings her passion for organizational behavior into the classroom, where she teaches Contemporary Management Principles/Practices to undergraduate students. Her dedication to mentorship and scholarship is reflected in her active role as a reviewer for Management Science and her involvement in the Academy of Management’s Social Network Society.
Her ongoing projects explore topics such as network evolution, gender diversity’s impact on organizational growth, and the resilience of professional ties in healthcare settings.
Before joining Colorado State University, Dr. Sheinfeld completed her PhD in Organization Management at Rutgers Business School. She also holds an MA in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University and a BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from The Hebrew University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
