Raul Galang is a marketing and product innovation strategist with 25+ years of experience driving growth across global enterprises and fast-moving startups. He began his career as an electrical engineer (BSEE, University of Missouri) before pivoting into product management and marketing after earning an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Texas at Austin.
His career spans enterprise software, industrial automation, consumer electronics, and renewable energy — with his most formative experiences coming from building and scaling three startups. Those ventures shaped a core conviction: that innovation thrives at the intersection of curiosity, agility, and customer empathy. That same conviction anchors his teaching and consulting practice today.
At Colorado State University, Raul teaches Product Design (MKT 364) and International Marketing (MKT 365). A committed advocate for generative AI, he integrates it into his courses in two distinct roles — as a Thinking Partner that simulates real marketing organizations, and as a Teaching Assistant that streamlines academic workflows. The goal is never AI for its own sake, but to experiment and help students build critical judgment, curiosity, and real-world readiness. His broader focus extends to the skills that screens and social media quietly erode: critical thinking, clear communication, initiative, and the ability to tell a compelling story.
Outside the classroom, Raul explores the world with his wife, three kids, and two dogs. One of his dogs is a certified therapy animal, and together they volunteer at nursing homes, schools, and airports. An outdoor enthusiast and avid runner, he also rock climbs, snowboards, hikes, and recently completed his sixth marathon.
