Dr. Baird specializes in health IT/analytics, digital health, and the application of AI to business contexts. His current research focuses on causal machine learning, estimation of heterogeneous treatment effects, and how AI systems shape organizational coordination, decision-making, and attention dynamics. He won the Early Career and Mid-Career Awards from the Association for Information Systems and has published in journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Nature Mental Health, Decision Support Systems, JAMIA Open, and Health Services Research. He teaches courses on how to use data, analytics, and AI to solve business problems. He is a Senior Editor at the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and is on the Editorial Review Board for Information Systems Research.
