The human resource management concentration at the College of Business prioritizes blending theory with practical application. That’s why the program is constantly creating new opportunities for learning and experience.

Across the curriculum you will gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing human resource systems and can supplement your learning with internship experiences. You can also learn more about human resource management and network with professionals through our awarding winning Society for Human Resource Management chapter.

A new capstone course in human resource management encourages students to think strategically and use data to drive their decision-making processes by pairing students with a local company to help them make critical changes to their human resource practices. Opportunities like these help students enact strategic and equitable human resource practices that can make a real difference.

By managing the strategic and equitable implementation across the full life-cycle of human resource management programs, you can help create a better world for those around you. The skills you will gain from the human resource management concentration will help your career as a human resource professional, manager, or business owner. That’s why you’ll take classes that share a focus on strategic thinking, evidence-based decision-making, diversity and inclusivity, and ethical business practices.

Successful human resource managers have a growth-oriented mindset and are always looking for opportunities to learn. It’s only natural that you’ll need a diverse range of courses to inform your work. As you progress through your degree, you’ll take courses that are related to the other concentrations offered at the College of Business.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Business relies on a wide selection of courses, including general education classes, called All-University Core Curriculum (AUCC). Some of these AUCC courses are offered by the College, helping you to move quickly through your degree. You’ll take 21 credits of human resource management-specific courses in order to graduate.
