The business minor is broad and adaptable. It offers valuable knowledge and skills that can give students a competitive edge in many career and academic pursuits.
CSU students can pursue this 24-credit, broad business foundations minor developed specifically for non-business students. Minor courses will explore many aspects of business including accounting, finance, marketing, and management. The business minor is not available to students pursuing a major in business.
How to Become a Business Minor
There are no additional admissions requirements once enrolled at CSU, but students are required to attend a business minor declaration seminar (held throughout the semester) to add the minor. Once you attend the seminar, it will take at least three business days for the minor to be processed, and then you can register for business minor courses.
From Minor to Major
If you have started the minor program and decide you want to become a business major, you can transfer all minor courses into the major except FIN305 and BUS405.
You will need to complete 24 credits to earn a business minor; 12 or more of those credits must be from upper-division (300- to 400-level) courses. You must maintain at least a C average in all required courses.

Students must satisfactorily complete the total credits required for the minor. Minors and interdisciplinary minors require 12 or more upper-division (300- to 400-level) credits.
Additional coursework may be required due to prerequisites.
A minimum grade of C is required for all business courses in the minor to receive the credential.
