The Denver Executive MBA class of 2009 completed their international
study tour to China last week. The study tour seeks to enrich the
classroom experience through study projects, corporate visits, and
cultural immersion. The 2008 tour included visits to the cities of
Beijing and Shanghai.
The group received a special orientation to the planning process for
the Olympic Games by a member of the U.S. Olympic committee and the
U.S. Embassy liaison to the Olympic planning committee. The Beijing
portion of the trip included business visits to the law offices of
Anadarko, Zhongzi and the China Beijing Equity Exchange. The
students toured the Forbidden City and visited the Great Wall with
MBA students from China Agricultural University. The photograph on

The Shanghai portion of the trip included business visits with Coca
Cola, Prologis, CH2MHill, Johnson and Johnson, and Faegre & Benson.
The group also toured the deep port at Yangshan. It was a very busy
but rewarding week.
