Master Teacher Initiative
The College of Business’ Master Teacher Initiative (MTI) helps our faculty members be the best teachers they can be through continuing education, networking, peer evaluation and support, and access to the latest in education research. Established in 2005, the MTI has since become a University-wide program to enhance the practice and art of teaching to benefit all students at Colorado State University.

The Master Teacher Initiative:
  • Creates an environment where faculty members from every department can share common teaching interests and concerns.
  • Contributes to the creation of a culture where the scholarship of teaching is valued and appreciated.
  • Mentors new faculty members by providing an open forum where new and existing faculty members can network.
  • Provides a structured program to continually improve teaching skills and enhance student education, as well as documents improvements for accreditation purposes.
  • Gives equal weight to quality teaching within the College’s land-grant missions of teaching, research and outreach.

The Master Teacher Initiative's Three Major Components:
  1. The Master Teacher Workshops
  2. Teaching Tips of the Week, and
  3. The Master Teacher Web Site
