The Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise MBA
seeks to provide
sustainable and social enterprise solutions to some of the most stubborn issues
of our time including poverty, disease, malnutrition and environmental degradation.
Our sustainable MBA graduates
go on to create and operate for-profit
and nonprofit startups, non-governmental organizations, and to work in multinational
companies that champion social and environmental objectives while delivering solid
returns on investment.
Triple Bottom Line Approach
The GSSE MBA will equip you with the tools and network to become a global social
entrepreneur, where the bottom lines are people, planet and profit. This sustainable
MBA is in the business of creating a better world, improving the lives of people,
while building profitable ventures.
We admit a new cohort of 25-30 students each year, approximately half of whom come
from abroad. We have had students from all around the world, including Bhutan, Uganda,
Ghana, Iraq, Moldova, India, Nepal, Venezuela, Mongolia, Brazil, Ecuador and, of
course, the United States. Our sustainable MBA students develop lifelong friendships
and extensive professional networks during the program.

Summer Field Work
The centerpiece of the GSSE MBA is an intensive
MBA field work
in which student teams work on ventures domestically and
abroad to apply classroom learning in the real world. Our student projects are actual
startups: GSSE Venture Teams work on a wide array of projects, including clean energy,
irrigation technology, consumer products, clean water supply, organic foods and
a host of other sustainable and social businesses. It is not uncommon for students
to continue building these social enterprises after graduation.
