John Clark
Dear Students, Parents and Alumni,

Demand is growing dramatically in the field of computer information systems and our Department is at the forefront of that revolution. We currently have three to four times as many job offers as we do graduates. To meet industry demand, we need to increase the number of students looking at CIS.

To do that, we first have to dispel some myths. The first is that all the good jobs have gone off-shore. Nothing could be further from the truth, as evidenced by the number of companies competing for our graduates. The second myth is that CIS specialists work in isolation. Our graduates will tell you, CIS demands strong communication skills, first and foremost, and the ability to work within teams.

We were one of the first CIS programs in the country, established in 1964, and we continue that pioneering tradition today. Our faculty members are well respected and have active research programs as well as being excellent teachers. Business intelligence is driving our industry today, and our graduates are at the leading edge.

We hope you take a look at the concentration in computer information systems. If you have any questions on CIS, or if we can provide you with additional information, please contact us.

Best Regards,

Jon Clark
